WHAT'S THE JOB? Our team is growing, and we’re looking for an Intermediate Structural Engineer to join our passionate, talented team to manage and lead an exciting mix of local and not-so-local projects. This role is based in Vancouver, BC. A BIT ABOUT THE PERSON WHO WILL EXCEL IN THIS ROLE: We are looking for someone with project and technical experience with all major materials, who is familiar with local building practices, permitting, and industry standards. WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
- Perform detailed structural design under the mentorship of the principal-in-charge and/or senior engineers.
- Participate in delivering medium to large-sized projects, throughout all design and construction phases.
- Act as project manager for small to medium-sized projects, throughout all design and construction phases.
- Be involved in ongoing communication and coordination with other design consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
- Have sound knowledge of codes and standards within the area of design responsibilities.
- Deliver project deliverables on time and on budget.
- Build positive relationships with clients and help promote our core values.
- Contribute to the team’s technical knowledge resources.
- Be creative and innovative in problem-solving.
- Act as a role model and technical mentor to junior engineers and BIM technicians.
- Work with a team that is passionate, focused, and dedicated in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Contribute to a fun and welcoming work environment.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, with a minimum of 5+ years of local or international experience designing buildings in the residential, commercial, municipal, and institutional sectors;
- You must be a P.Eng. registered in BC or eligible for accreditation within 6 months of your start date;
- Ability to workautonomously in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to use programs such as RFEM, S-Concrete, Sizer, or other similar structural analysis software.

- Well-rounded knowledge and experience designing with timber, steel, and concrete is an asset.
- Understanding and experience with seismic analysis and design.
- Suitable experience in commercial, residential, and/or institutional projects.
- Master’s degree in structural engineering.
- Working knowledge of American codes and standards (PE is also advantageous).
- Base Salary CAD $75,000 – $100,000 (will be commensurate with skillset and experience).
