Protecnium is an international consulting firm specializing in engineering and technical services ( We are currently looking for a Monitoring Surveyor to join our team. - Project: subway/tunnel project - Estimated length of the position: 24 months- with the possibility of being extended. In general, when the project ends, we try to place the candidate in other projects to give him/her continuity. - Summary: the Monitoring Surveyor plays a vital role in ensuring the structural integrity of the project by collecting and analyzing critical data throughout the construction phases. Working as part of a mobile team, you'll be responsible for conducting various monitoring activities across different project sites, sometimes including working within active construction zones. - Responsibilities:

  • Conduct various monitoring activities as directed by the Monitoring Lead Surveyor, including readings from Building Monitoring Points (BMPs), Surface Monitoring Points (SMPs), Ground Monitoring Points (GMPs), and Utility Monitoring Points (UMPs).
  • Effectively communicate with the Monitoring Lead Surveyor and traffic control supervisors to ensure safety and efficient data collection.
  • Report and document any damaged monitoring points, benchmarks, or equipment encountered during site visits.
  • Collaborate with the team to propose and implement improvements to the BMP, SMP, GMP, and UMP reading processes.
  • Perform regular instrument checks and ensure all equipment is functioning properly.
  • Assist other Monitoring Surveyors with their tasks when required.
  • Strictly adhere to all safety protocols and attend all mandatory safety training sessions.
- Requirements:
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in construction surveying, with a strong understanding of civil works practices.
  • Experience in heavy civil construction projects (tunnel, subways, rail, structures, highways,etc).
  • A bachelor's degree is not mandatory but is considered an asset.
  • Prior experience working on construction monitoring projects is preferred.
  • Proficiency in using surveying equipment, including total stations and digital levels.
  • Strong understanding of monitoring methodologies and their purpose within construction projects.
  • Excellent knowledge of Leica survey equipment is preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in open public environments and active traffic lanes, prioritizing safety and awareness.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to upholding project specifications and tolerances.
  • Ability to adapt to changing work schedules (day or night shifts) and weather conditions.
  • Ensure that the surveying experience is continuous throughout your career and uninterrupted.
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 10-hours day shift. - Benefits:
