Community Development (Community Services & Development) Full time $80,000 to $90,000 About us The Broome Regional Aboriginal Medical Service (BRAMS) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service which has been caring for the Broome community for more than 45 years. When we first opened our doors in 1978, BRAMS was the first remote Aboriginal Medical Service in Western Australia. We deliver comprehensive, holistic and culturally responsive primary health care, social and emotional wellbeing services, and NDIS support to more than 6500 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the Broome region. About the role The Health Promotions Coordinator is responsible for identifying, planning, and coordinating health promotion and organisational events for BRAMS. This role focuses on community engagement and building positive relationships with the community and key stakeholders, ensuring that events are well-organised, executed in accordance with established policies and procedures, and evaluated for effectiveness. Key responsibilities include identifying and implementing local health prevention and promotion initiatives aligned with current health priorities, predicted trends, and the organisation’s strategic plan. The Health Promotions Coordinator plays an essential role in enhancing community health awareness and engagement through thoughtful event planning and management, while fostering strong connections within the local community. The employee will be required to participate in the development of an individual workplan which will include key result areas associated with their position, and a requirement to demonstrate appropriate behaviours which reflect a commitment to BRAMS values and strategic directions. About you Candidates for the position of the Health Promotions Coordinator must address the following selection criteria: Tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent work experience. Experience in an events role, preferably with financial targets. Proven experience in project and event management. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Commitment to working within the BRAMS Model of Care and Quality of Care Framework. Strong ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders and build collaborative relationships. Dedication to multi-disciplinary and inter-sectoral collaboration.
