Join our dynamic, fast-paced team as a Commercial Associate, where you'll play a key role in developing new data center projects. Responsibilities: Reporting to the Senior Manager – Commercial, the Commercial Associate will be responsible for:
- Supporting the commercial negotiations and development activities for greenfield development projects, with a focus on securing land, permitting and grid connection activities
- Supporting the due diligence and commercial negotiations for new greenfield development opportunities and M&A activities
- Assisting the team by analysing commercial metrics on various potential greenfield development and M&A opportunities
- Drafting, as required, relevant documents including management and board presentations, monthly and quarterly reports
- Financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and reporting, including analysis and production of regular business development and financial reports for the board/senior management
- Conducting feasibility analysis for the technical, commercial, and regulatory aspects of business growth and project opportunities
- Evaluating different power markets with respect to power prices and grid connection opportunities
- Engaging with project stakeholders during the development phase, including landowners, transmission service operators, and local councils
- Assisting in the procurement and negotiation of power supply contracts and connection agreements for projects
- Providing research for presentations and analysis on key issues facing the business
- Degree in Finance/Economics/Commerce/Engineering
- 4-6 years’ experience in commercial, corporate development or banking with exposure to: Investment banking, project finance, infrastructure funds management; Infrastructure valuations, infrastructure advisory; Greenfield renewable, data center or property development; Financial modelling
- Background or qualification in Engineering, Project Management and/or related construction experience would be seen as an asset
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Strong presentation skills
- Advanced in Microsoft office – especially Excel
- Available for occasional travel as required to Canadian operations (Prince George, Mackenzie, and Canal Flats), US Operations in Childress, Texas and select conferences/ events
- Salary range: CAD $85,000 - $110,000
