REPORTS TO: Senior VP for India Operations GENERAL PURPOSE: We are looking for an experienced Associate Director (AD) of Academic Operations in India who will build operational rigor in the team and manage a team of 20 Coordinators and Managers today. The AD will report to the Senior VP for India Operations. The AD will also partner with faculty and Academic Affairs leadership on departmental affairs. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Builds operational rigor (such as building the right processes, systems, KPIs, Dashboards etc) in partnership with other teams like Technology, Business Process Optimization and Academic Affairs, wherever required.
  • Oversees operational systems and processes while looking for opportunities of improvement or revision.
  • Responsible for implementing academic operation strategies and set priorities accordingly
  • Manages a team of Managers who oversee the day-to-day operations of teams such as Recruitment and Onboarding, Workforce Planning and Scheduling, Human Resources and Faculty Support, and Academic Integrity
  • Establishes the parameters to empower department Managers with the authority to accomplish their duties
  • Collaborates with the Academic Affairs Department Chairs to resolve academic issues.
  • Applies management principles to ensure optimal performance throughout the department
  • Measures and report on operational performance and develop plans to improve relevant key performance indicators
  • Day to day management and coordination with other stakeholders of the university
  • Hires, leads, coaches, supervises and develops staff as required
  • Ensures seamless business execution and reinforces positive morale
  • Works closely with relevant office managers to ensure all operational, administrative, and compliance functions within the department are being properly executed in accordance to regulatory-based best practices
  • Recognize great performance and address performance issues
QUALIFICATIONS :
  • Masters graduate
  • 5+ years of experience in managing Operational teams
  • Experience in Academic Operations either in Education or EdTech or Online University
  • English at mother tongue level
  • Relevant experience within the higher education sector– a big advantage
  • Experience working and managing in a global organization – an advantage
  • Working knowledge of CRM systems and excel reports – an advantage
