Job Title: Personal Injury Law Clerk Job #: 16718 Job Type: Full time, permanent Location: North York Salary: $75,000 - $85,000 Remote Flexibility: Hybrid Remote Flexibility Client Profile Our client, a reputable Toronto firm is currently looking for a Personal Injury Law Clerk. - Mid sized law firm specializing in Personal Injury Law.
- Offices across Ontario.
- Office located in North York!
- Manage Plaintiff Personal Injury files (both AB and Tort);
- Draft and prepare correspondence to opposing counsel, including first and third party letters, Statements of Claim, Motion Records, Affidavits of Documents, Pre-Trial Memos, Mediation Memos, Certification forms, Trial Briefs, Bills of Costs and Orders;
- Schedule mediations, examinations for discovery, pre-trials and trials, motions and prepare and serve Notices;
- Assist with preparing statements of accounts and disbursements;
- Diarize all deadlines and ensure that preparations for trials and arbitrations/mediations are completed in a timely manner;
- Liaise with clients to obtain documents and schedule meetings and discoveries, and/or delegate to other team members where needed;
- Manage calendars for lawyers;
- Assist with trial preparation (Request to Admit, Notice of Intention, Summons to Witness, Notice letters to witnesses, prepare witnesses for trial);
- Order motor vehicle accident reports, if required, and relevant file work;
- Review, analyzeand summarize medical records;
- Docket time spent on the file;
- Arrange for service and filing of court documents.
- 3+ years of plaintiff personal injury clerking experience;
- Solid understanding of the Rules of Civil Procedure and SABS;
- Strong initiative and ability to work with little direction;
- Strong proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel);
- Professional, flexible, team player attitude;
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time management skills
