An award-winning US Law Firm is seeking to hire a Tax Litigation Paralegal to support its Tax Department. The ideal candidate will play a key role in assisting with a variety of tasks and projects within the department, working alongside attorneys, department members, and other professional staff as needed.

  • Salary – £45,000 per annum
  • Hybrid working – 3 days in the office / 2 days remote
  • Excellent US Law firm going through a period of growth currently.
Duties of the Tax Litigation Paralegal:
  • Pursuant to the Tax Department’s needs, assist with preparation of interviews, productions, depositions, hearings & trials, client meetings, and/or transactional closings
  • Assist with conducting research and the retrieval of materials such as current rules, company filings, and/or market-based research, and provide findings and guidance to attorneys
  • Utilising understanding of mathematic to calculate stamp duty
  • Perform non-legal research using various research tools, including the Internet, Westlaw, LexisNexis, PACER and other Tax Practice Area specific websites
  • Ensures that all files are maintained within Department-approved protocols and case management systems and seeks to improve workflow regarding storage and recall of materials
Requirements of the Tax Litigation Paralegal:
  • Law Degree educated or Graduate Diploma in Law or similar
  • At least 1+ years working in a Litigation role
  • A solid understanding of fundamental tax-related concepts and procedures
  • Proficiency in using Relativity & strong Excel experience is essential along with knowledge of standard office programs such as Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • A demonstrated ability to quickly learn new software and systems is essential
