This position requires a Finance Director to take the helm of a small but impactful local finance and accounting department. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of financial strategies to drive business success. This company is a well-established international player in the retail industry. The Australian market is a key priority within their APAC strategy, making this a high-profile and impactful position within the Group. The company operates primarily in a B2 B model and into major retailers. Well respected as a consumer brand and as an employer with sales and employee tenure to confirm, this is a great opportunity in the Brisbane market. Description The Finance Director position sits within the SLT in the Australian business and reports directly into the Asia CFO. This "hands on" position has responsibilities including: Oversee the financial and accounting operations of the ANZ business. Develop financial strategies to support business growth and profitability. Act as a business partner to the Commercial Director and other departments to help in driving business growth. Maintain a strong financial reporting system and processes to ensure compliance with regulations. Manage financial risks to ensure business continuity. Oversee cashflow, to include weekly and monthly forecasting and reporting. Foster a positive working environment in the Accounting and Finance department. Lead a small team of 2 to deliver excellent service to the ANZ business. Work effectively with offshore and shared service resources to ensure accounting tasks and month-end close processes happen on time and to the highest degree of accuracy. Other duties as detailed in the PD. Profile A successful Finance Director should have: A degree in Finance, Accounting or related field and a current membership with a major accounting body (CA or CPA preferred). Proven leadership skills in managing a Finance department. A past history of delivering business partnering services in a similar role. Retail/FMCG experience highly preferred. Strong knowledge of financial regulations and accounting processes. Excellent strategic planning skills. Outstanding communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
