Nestled in the serene beauty of Vancouver Island, this luxury resort offers an unparalleled experience with world-class amenities, including a renowned spa, golf course and an upscale restaurant. They are seeking an experienced Director of Sales and Marketing to join the resort’s leadership team and lead a team of three Sales Coordinators. This key role is responsible for executing the sales and marketing strategy to maximize revenue across all outlets on the property. Description

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales and marketing strategy, action plan, and budget for the resort across leisure, wedding, MICE, and corporate markets.
  • Oversee all source markets to ensure success and revenue growth for the property.
  • Prepare and execute annual budgets for sales and marketing, including expense management and revenue generation.
  • Collaborate with the reservations team to optimize revenue management and identify yielding opportunities.
  • Identify and capitalize on business opportunities during weekdays, shoulder seasons, and long weekends across various markets.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers, destination management companies (DMCs), and marketing partners.
  • Achieve room revenue and occupancy targets while maintaining brand integrity and delivering excellent customer service.
  • Drive business development with sound analytics, ROI-focused plans, and well-executed events.
  • Conduct weekly client engagement activities and provide detailed reports summarizing actions and ROI.
  • Represent the resort at international trade shows, industry events, sales missions, and showcases.
  • Collaborate with the Sales & Marketing Coordinators on a robust social media strategy.
  • Assist trade partners with FAM stays, site inspections, and related activities.
  • Ensure resort collateral is on-brand, current, and effective.
  • Stay updated on market trends and provide recommendations to the leadership team.
  • Innovate and implement revenue management strategies in collaboration with the resort leadership.
Requirements
  • Education : Degree in Marketing, Tourism, Business, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience :
  • 5+ years of progressive hotel sales and marketing experience.
  • Proven management and supervisory experience.
  • Strong background in analytics and performance metrics monitoring.
  • Expertise in developing and executing strategic plans and campaigns.
  • Proficiency in digital and traditional marketing, electronic communication strategies, and relationship management with industry stakeholders.
  • Skills :
  • Excellent knowledge of hotel sales strategies and revenue management.
  • Experience with OTAs, event contracting, and packaging.
  • Strong communication and copywriting skills across various mediums.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and collaborative team player.
  • Proficient in travel domestically and internationally without restrictions.
