NWI Precision’s 120,000 sq. ft. facility is located at 9 Fenmar Drive in Toronto. NWI Precision is currently seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer. SUPPLIER QUALITY ENGINEER The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for working with suppliers to: develop and improve manufacturing processes and controls, perform supplier surveillance, coordinate FAI / PPAP / Corrective Action submissions, lead supplier performance management including new launches, product delivery and supplier approval process. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Foster and maintain effective relationships with suppliers. Ensure quality requirements are adequately transferred and facilitate compliance to the same.
- Measure and improve supplier quality performance and when necessary, develop tangible improvement plans working with suppliers.
- Maintain and report KPIs that reflect overall supplier performance, providing updates on trends to internal and supplier’s leadership teams.
- Participate in or lead supplier audits, conduct supplier surveillance activity to effectively manage performance based on risk.
- Support cross-functional activity such as tech reviews, 8Ds and bottleneck resolution involving Quality Engineering, Supply Chain, Engineering and Operations.
- Working closely with Quality Engineering and other functional teams, facilitate supplier FAIs, APQP or PPAP submissions and timely new launch activity.
- Manage supplier non-conformances and other performance deficiencies to closure, and validate related RCAs and timely corrective actions.
- Participate in customer product reviews and QMS audits at vendor facilities in collaboration with other members of the Quality team.
- Participate in supplier selection, source inspection when necessary and AS9100 or Nuclear (N299) audits as the supplier quality focal.
- Assist with preparation of presentations on KPIs, improvement plans and key-issue status at a periodic frequency.
- Able to travel minimum 30% of the time to locations in Canada and USA.

- Meet the registration requirements of the Controlled Goods Program
- Able to work in Canada, Canadian citizen or permanent resident
- University degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar engineering discipline
- ASQ certifications such as CQE, CQM, CQA preferred
- Minimum of 5-8 years of work experience in a regulated quality manufacturing environment.
- Experience in aerospace, automotive or nuclear preferred. Exposure to machining and processing (Plating, shotpeen etc.) an advantage.
- Deep understanding of RCCA/8D corrective actions required. Demonstrated experience managing supplier performance and improvement plans.
- Familiarity with AS 9100 / TS 16949 or N299 quality system requirements.
- Experience in Lean and Six Sigma (Green or Black belt) and ERP exposure an asset.
- Strong knowledge of FAI or PPAP, regulated manufacturing controls, APQP, SPC, FMEA preferred.
- Strong communication and presentation skills required.
