About the Role: As a Field Engineer/Technician, you strive to exceed expectations by bringing your enthusiastic attitude and and problem solving skills. This role will be a mix of in office and on site settings where you will be providing engineering expertise to the project crews. Key Responsibilities:

  • Field reviews and structural observations on various building projects throughout the Lower Mainland
  • Reviewing shop drawings, contractor requests and RFI’s (working with Project Engineers and drafting staff to develop project solutions and prepare appropriate documentation such as Site Instructions, etc.)
  • Assisting engineering staff with project reviews during the construction phase of the project
  • Analyzing applicable reports, testing data and related documentation
  • Preparing appropriate Construction Phase documentation
  • Meets daily with project crews to review production schedule and confirm all materials, equipment and resources are readily available for production to continue on schedule and within budget
  • Collects, coordinates and analysis shop drawings, design specifications, material requirements and project data through the duration of the project to ensure quality and contract specification compliance
  • Provides technical input for project work plan and scheduling. Identifying risk elements of production, materials, equipment or process that could negatively impact the budget or schedule
  • Evaluates daily production, schedule and budget projections to accurately track project performance. Documents daily activities in Company approved methods and technologies
Qualifications:
  • A degree or diploma in Engineering or a related field;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Excellent computer skills including AutoCAD and REVIT being a definite asset; and,
  • Previous experience working with general contractors is a positive asset.
