HaiLa is building ultra low power radio communications solutions that will eliminate the need for batteries in wireless communication devices by offering a product that is hyper power efficient that can run indefinitely from harvested energy. Our mission is to enable Ambient Power IoT with sensing everywhere on existing protocols such as Wi-Fi. This is an exciting opportunity for a senior level RF and mixed signal design engineer to join our dynamic and diverse team! You will be working directly with the director of engineering to advance our system-level technology roadmap and execute on our technical strategy. Based in Montreal, HaiLa is supported by leading sustainability-focused venture investors as well as Stanford University. Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop RF, analog/mixed-signal circuitry concepts.
- Design and verify/debug RF, analog/mixed-signal ICs in bulk CMOS from product definition through to mass production.
- Work closely with the analog design team as well as systems and product definition, digital designers, and 3rd party contractors to implement the complete ASIC solution.
- Resolve performance, area, power, and system cost tradeoffs to optimize system architecture.
- Support IC validation and characterization efforts.
- Solid understanding of analog/mixed-signal design flows (Cadence, Mentor, Synopsys, etc.) in a Linux environment, specifically Virtuoso schematic and layout, and EMX.
- Excellent problem solving and debugging skills.
- Experience with design and layout of some or all of the following: LNA, PA, Mixer, Op Amp, Filter, VCO, XO, Synthesizer,
- LDO, DAC, ADC, TDC.
- Strong communication (written and verbal), organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with high volume IC manufacturing is a plus.
- Electrical Engineering degree
- 3+ years Analog/RF or Mixed Signal ASIC design experience.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability and desire to work on different types of circuits.
- Top-level IC design experience
- Experience with the evaluation and integration of 3rd party vendor IPs.
- Proficiency with TCL, Perl, or other scripting languages, skill code and pcell creation
- DC-DC converter design experience a plus
- Sub-threshold / very low power CMOS design experience
- Play a key role in bringing the breakthrough power efficient RF technology to market
