Software & System Tester

Duration: 06 Months Description: We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Software & System Tester to join our Victoria BC based team. This position reports to the Software Verification and Validation Manager and is responsible for the software and system testing activities for globally developed new products. The major objectives of the role will be: Conduct an analysis of the product, providing timely feedback Developing efficient test strategies in-line with project constraints Designing, implementing, and executing tests Reporting on test activities Quickly and accurately report on product defects Assist in the continuous improvement of product quality and contribute to the product and planning decisions And, for those qualified, to help build out test systems: mock ups of energy management systems Be key part of an agile team from planning to execution to reporting To be successful in this position you will offer: The aptitude to create intelligent, quality focused, time conscious test strategies Knowledge of the fundamental test process, test levels, types and techniques Critical and lateral thinking ability Skills to break down complex testing problems A keen eye for detail and a fussy but pragmatic approach to your work The ability to work with developers, product owners, and application engineers in an agile framework The ability to articulate and justify testing activities to stakeholders Degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Systems, Computer Science (a considerable amount of experience may preclude the need for a degree) Inquisitive nature: a strong desire to understand the finer details of how things work About US Tech Solutions: US Tech Solutions is a global staff augmentation firm providing a wide range of talent on-demand and total workforce solutions.
