Advanced Clinician Paediatric Social Work

Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity Starship Child Health has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced social worker to apply for an Advanced Clinician Social Worker role. The Paediatric Social Work team covers inpatients and outpatients at Starship and also has a key role at Te Puaruruhau, the Auckland Regional Child Protection team, providing services to the wider Auckland region and supporting the national services at Starship Hospital. The Paediatric Social Work team provides psychosocial assessment and intervention to support successful adaptation to hospitalisation and diagnosis. We also support people during periods of grief, loss, and relationship support; family violence assessment and intervention, crisis intervention, and the management of difficult and complex family situations. Services are provided from Monday to Friday, and an on-call weekend service is a critical part of overall service delivery. For further details, please refer to the Position Description here .   1. A relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work
  2. A total of 6 years postgraduate experience including the equivalent of four years full-time experience within the area of specialty
  3. Proven clinical leadership within the area of specialty
  4. Relevant clinical postgraduate certificate/diploma (PG Dip) or equivalent
  5. A passion and drive for Paediatric social work assessment and continuous improvement in the field of child protection social work
  6. Membership of a professional association and/or college
  7. Minimum of 100 hours of professional development in the area of specialty over the last 3 years
  8. One peer review within the area of specialty during last 3 years
  9. Professional portfolio of evidence
  10. Advanced interpersonal and communication skills
