GENERAL MANAGER, EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION AND CARE The YMCA WA (The Y WA) has been contributing to our local Western Australian communities since 1902. Vales and Mission driven, The Y WA employs over 600 people and provides a wide range of services statewide. They passionately believe in the power of inspired young people, delivering innovative health and wellbeing, childcare, education, youth, and community services to thousands of young Australians every day. The Position: Reporting to the Executive Manager Early Childhood Education and Care and leading a dedicated team, you will have full responsibility for all aspects of the Children's Services operations, including: Delivering flourishing outcomes for children and young people. Strategic leadership and management of the portfolio. Leading the ongoing development and delivery of the Y WA’s School Read Y program, their evidence-informed program based on the science of early childhood development. Driving growth, continuous improvement, and change. Ensuring compliance with regulatory and national requirements. Establishing and maintaining critical relationships with key stakeholders. Financial and operational management and reporting. Developing a strong and collaborative culture in a geographically dispersed team. About You: Relevant academic qualifications (e.g., education, childcare, leadership, business). Extensive senior experience in the childcare and/or education sectors. A track record of delivering impactful change. Understanding of child safety and protection laws and processes.
