Te Kaunihera aa Takiwaa o Waikato (Waikato District Council) serves a large and diverse area, key towns include Raglan, Huntly, Ngaaruawaahia, Tuakau and Te Kauwhata. Join our renowned Building Review team at Waikato District Council and play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with building regulations.

What will I do?

  1. Lead the processing of residential and commercial building consents with a team of direct reports
  2. Ensure compliance with all building regulations and legislation
  3. Provide leadership and mentorship to team members, fostering their professional development
  4. Collaborate with the Building Review Team Leader to foster a cooperative and connected approach with stakeholders
  5. Assist to renew and maintain Building Consent Authority accreditation
  6. Empower customers to navigate regulations and legislation seamlessly

What I bring?

  1. Previous experience in building control with current competencies
  2. National Diploma in Building Control Surveying (Level 5) or equivalent
  3. Proven leadership qualities and experience managing and developing a team
  4. Exceptional interpersonal skills and a dedication to delivering excellent customer service
  5. Strong technical knowledge of the Building Act, Building Regulations, Building Code, and other relevant standards and statutes
  6. Proven ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks and take initiative
