This position works across Tātaki Auckland Unlimited, its venues, and ancillary storage and provides support in the protection and security of the buildings (assets), contents, occupants, and users. The security officer role is responsible for ensuring that they provide excellent customer service to visitors and stakeholders to improve their experience at our venues. All TAU security activities are geared towards preparedness, readiness, and staff growth. On a day-to-day basis, you will monitor and facilitate the operational security needs of a specified area or team, as set out by the roster. You will also be supported each shift by a supervisor from the communication centre, control officers, and patrol officers. Key Responsibilities:
- Complete all ongoing training requirements both online and in person, defined for this role.
- Promote activities and initiatives that help the organisation achieve its vision and mission.
- Ensure that the security of Tātaki Auckland Unlimited venues and the safety of their occupants are maintained.
- Make decisions and provide solutions that balance the needs of people, the organisation, and the environment.
- Manage all security activities and duties by best practices and organisational requirements.
- Work effectively on shift, following standard operating processes (SOPs) and/or under direction from the communication centre as required.
