This is a remote position. Virtual Rockstar is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and proactive Medical Biller to handle a variety of billing and administrative tasks for our client’s physical therapy practice. The ideal candidate will be experienced in managing medical billing, posting EOBs, handling denials, tracking insurance claims, and more. Knowledge of tools like JaneApp, Claim MD, and Google Workspace is a plus. About our client: Our client is a well-established physical therapy practice located in New York, committed to providing exceptional care and service to their patients. With a focus on quality patient outcomes and personalized care, this practice is expanding and looking for a reliable and experienced Medical Biller to join their team. Responsibilities:
- Billing & Administration:
- Download EOBs (Explanation of Benefits) that are not uploaded into JaneApp (GHI, Magnacare).
- Enter emails into Kit and manage faxing (Completed Billing, Notes, etc.).
- Submit authorizations and updated prescriptions (Rx), including MRI results.
- Add GP modifiers and post EOBs (WC, NF, 1199, GHI, Magnacare).
- Claims & Insurance:
- Handle billing for various insurance providers and follow up on unpaid claims.
- Call on denied claims, review, and appeal as necessary.
- Track status of pending insurance claims, ensuring all claims are processed in a timely manner.
- Obtain pre-authorizations for procedures and update patient files with insurance information.
- Accounts Receivable & Denials Management:
- Run A/R reports (over 60 days) and follow up on unpaid claims.
- Track and report on daily, weekly, and monthly metrics, ensuring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met.
- Resolve billing discrepancies and track any outstanding issues in the billing process.
- Metrics & Reporting:
- Maintain and update scorecards and daily metrics for billing progress.
- Generate detailed billing reports for management, providing insights into billing performance and trends.
- Assist with progress notes, authorizations, and manage Medicare Point of Care (POC).
- Communication:
- Handle phone calls related to billing inquiries, insurance issues, and other administrative concerns.
- Provide updates to patients on their insurance status, authorization requests, and any issues related to billing.
- Previous experience in medical billing, preferably within a physical therapy or healthcare setting.
- Familiarity with JaneApp, Claim MD, and Google Workspace is highly desirable.
- Solid understanding of medical billing codes, insurance processes, and EOB posting.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask.
- Ability to manage denials and follow up with insurance providers and patients as needed.
- Strong communication skills to effectively handle phone inquiries and provide excellent customer service.
