Purpose: The jobholder will have the responsibility of managing the equity portfolio of all funds allocated to him/ her in line with external regulations and the internal mandates. The jobholder will also be responsible for outperforming the benchmarks without incurring undue risks and providing independent research. Context: The jobholder will work closely with the Head - Fund Management and the Investment Management team to outperform benchmarks and adequately manage the risks in the equity portfolio. The jobholder will have primary responsibility of monitoring and communicating equity market trends. Main responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety of the designate funds
  • Adhere strictly to the regulatory norms pertaining to equity investments
  • Be proficient in fundamental equity research and valuation techniques acquired in an established buy-side firm.
  • Add value via stock selection, sector allocation and contribute to overall asset allocation decisions.
  • Ensure closure of equity deals in the market
  • Monitor various equities in the market to identify undervalued companies
  • Place trades in the market to acquire/ divest equities
  • Provide portfolio recommendations and post - investment monitoring
  • Assist the Head - Fund Management in analysing, recommending and implementing strategies for managing risk in the equities portfolio
  • Assist the Head - Fund Management in evolving the provision of MIS for Company management
  • Assist the Head - Fund Management in analysing market information in order to develop successful investment strategies
Qualifications:
  • CA/ CIS/ CFA and/ or an MBA with a specialisation in Finance from a premier institute.
Skills/ knowledge:
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate investment proposals
  • Should have sound knowledge of accounting concepts as well as fund management techniques and principles
  • Sound understanding of the equity market and market forces
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong negotiating and influencing skills
Experience:
  • Minimum of 7 - 8 years of relevant experience with an appropriate Financial Institution
  • Should be well versed with the dynamics of the equity market.
