Overseeing: Implementation of health and safety systems, contractor compliance, risk management, and on-site audits. Reporting to: Health & Safety Manager Our client, a leading residential developer, is seeking a Health and Safety Officer to manage and implement their safety management system at a residential construction site in Newcastle. Reporting to the Health and Safety Manager, this role is pivotal in maintaining a safe and productive work environment while ensuring compliance with statutory health and safety requirements. Safety Management: Oversee and enforce the implementation of the company’s Health & Safety Management System across the site. Hazard Identification: Identify site-specific hazards and address them in documentation and practical measures. Communication: Maintain clear communication lines with the H&S Manager and ensure site folders and statutory records are up-to-date. Contractor Compliance: Monitor and ensure strict adherence to site rules by all contractors, assisting site management in meeting statutory H&S requirements. Risk Assessment: Collaborate with the H&S Manager to develop and implement risk assessments and safe systems of work. Auditing and Compliance: Conduct on-site H&S audits, addressing non-conformances with site management and contractors. Incident Management: Contribute to accident and incident investigations, providing insights and recommendations for improvement. Training and Engagement: Identify training needs for personnel and contractors, contribute to toolbox talks, and deliver health and safety presentations.
