Science Teacher - Physics and Chemistry AY 25-26, GULF ENGLISH SCHOOL

1. Encourage staff development and support activities on the administration team.
2. Assist in the completion of the curriculum.
3. Collect and develop a yearly curriculum plan for all subjects within the department.
4. Identify overall aims and objectives within the subject area.
5. Design the structure of the work within the subjects to meet the needs of the students.
6. Observe teachers to ensure the appropriate curriculum is covered.
7. Train and support teachers by observing classes and developing a training program to meet their needs.
8. Assist in the design of assessment tests, together with the level Principal and school counsellor.
9. Assist teachers in the development and review of assessments within the subjects.
10. Write a yearly report on the department's successes and challenges at the end of the school year.
11. Develop action plans for department challenges.
12. Chair subject committees for accreditation purposes.
13. Help solve problems and resolve conflicts within the department by meeting with teachers, students, and parents as needed.
14. Liaise with other coordinators to ensure smooth transitions between and within grades.
15. Gather and present pertinent information to share with the subject team.
16. Motivate students and staff by personal influence and concern for the team.
17. Gather, analyze, and make available student achievement records.
18. Collect and analyze all grade data with teachers for the department.
19. Write quarterly/yearly reports on assessment data for the department.
20. Assist in the selection, storage, and dispensing of resources within the school.
21. Carry out additional duties as detailed in the classroom teacher description.
22. Help develop class scheduling with the Vice Principal/Principal.
23. Assist in developing the substitute schedule for the department.
24. Develop, collect, and distribute substitute teaching material for the department.
25. Perform any other duties assigned by the level principal or school Director.
26. Attend scheduled meetings and communicate appropriate information to teams.
