We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Clerk of Work (M&E) to join our team in the property development industry. The ideal candidate will oversee all construction projects' mechanical and electrical (M&E) aspects, ensuring compliance with approved designs, specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements. JOB DESCRIPTION Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with the policies, procedures, and instructions outlined in the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Verify that all mechanical and electrical (M&E) works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and standards.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with project timelines, budgets, quality standards, and safety requirements for M&E installations.
- Identify defects in M&E installations, analyze probable causes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Inspect and verify M&E materials and equipment to ensure they meet project specifications and quality standards.
- Oversee the proper installation and commissioning of M&E systems, ensuring adherence to best practices and industry standards.
- Conduct consistent and punctual supervision of M&E works at the project site.
- Carry out pre-installation and post-installation inspections and document findings appropriately.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of inspection reports, approvals, and M&E work progress.
- Document daily site activities related to M&E works, including manpower deployment, material deliveries, and progress rates.
- Record and report rejected works and materials, providing reasons and justifications for the rejection.
- Witness and document all tests on M&E systems, ensuring compliance with performance criteria.
- Identify and report substandard workmanship or inappropriate materials for immediate rectification or rejection.
- Verify measurements and quantities for completed M&E works to facilitate payment claims.
- Promptly inform supervisors of any non-conformance with specifications or drawings to facilitate corrective action, including issuing stop-work orders if necessary.
- Collaborate effectively with other disciplines (civil, structural, and architectural) to ensure smooth coordination of M&E works.
- Notify supervisors of substandard work, design errors, or challenges requiring intervention.
- Provide technical guidance and support to contractors to resolve issues and maintain work quality.
- Execute other duties as directed by the Engineer or project management team.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the superior to support project objectives.
- Minimum Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering.
- Additional certifications in M&E project management or quality assurance are an advantage.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in M&E works within the property development or construction industry.
- Strong organizational skills, independent problem-solving skills, and commitment to excellence.
- Proficient in interpersonal and communication skills in both English and Bahasa Malaysia.
- Awareness and prioritization of project time, cost, quality, and safety requirements.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with M&E-specific software and tools is an added advantage.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrates professionalism and integrity in site supervision and reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to provide practical solutions.
