Summary The Principal Specialist - Industrial Relations & Policies will be responsible for driving effective and harmonious industrial relations between the union, employees, and management. The role will also involve the effective management of performance and disciplinary frameworks and policies, conducting and resolving cases fairly and promptly. Furthermore, this role drives continuous improvement in employee performance and compliance, fostering a positive organizational culture and supporting overall company success through proactive industrial and employee relations management. Job Description Employee Performance & Disciplinary Management Conduct investigations into employee performance and disciplinary matters, ensuring all processes are fair, thorough, and compliant with company policies and legal requirements. Handle Company-level employee performance and disciplinary case management of disciplinary and performance-related issues, ensuring timely and effective resolution. Track and analyze trends in disciplinary cases and performance issues, providing regular reports to management and recommending interventions to mitigate risks and reduce future occurrences. Provide training and guidance to managers and employees on performance management and disciplinary procedures. HR Policies and Compliance Contribute towards the creation, review, and updating of Scoot's HR policies to ensure they are current and effective. Keep abreast of evolving industrial relations environments, both internal and external to the Company, and future-ready Scoot's policies and procedures. Coordinate and ensure that internal policies, manuals, and guidelines across different Business Units are consistent and relevant. Industrial Relations Act as a point of contact for the union and support the IR Lead in union activities including Union-Management and branch meetings. Continually build rapport with the union to establish an effective tripartite partnership for the collective success of Scoot. Contribute towards the formulation of policies and industrial relations activities of the organization, including formulating policies such as labor relations and employee services to align with company objectives, government regulations, and labor contract terms. Culture Stewardship Drive Scoot's commitment and uphold its values, including but not limited to inclusivity and a safe and respectful workplace. Identify potential cultural issues and recommend interventions through the analysis of people-related data and engagement with both leadership and staff. Projects Lead internal cross-functional HR projects not exclusive to Industrial Relations & Policies. Involve in inter-BU collaboration projects as an SME to contribute to the overall objective of the project. Requirements Degree in Human Resource Management or a related field.
