Logistics Specialist Trainee - Expression of Interest

Job ID: 2861141 | Amazon Data Services Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Logistics trainee as part of our Work Based Learning Program (WBLP). Trainees will participate in our 12-month work and training program. By the end of the program, you will be assessed on your learnings to see if you have what it takes to join our growing team and be a full time Amazonian. Logistics Specialists review Data Center inventory, in-bound shipments, and ongoing demand to ensure that proper stock levels are maintained in all locations to support build and repair activities. If you would like to dive deep into inventory consumption, control, and accuracy, we’d like to meet you. Your work will ensure overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed defined service levels of data center operations by being a part of operating the world’s largest cloud computing infrastructure.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Understand all aspects of transportation, shipping, receiving, and inventory control while adhering to strict safety standards.
  • Complete manual tasks such as assembling, addressing, and arranging for the shipment of materials, handling incoming shipments, unpacking boxes, and verifying contents.
  • Load and unload large equipment utilizing pallet jacks.
  • Maintain accountability of in-stock components and process inbound shipments.
  • Assist with ongoing requests to ensure proper stock levels are maintained and distributed to all locations.
  • Create plans with the Logistics Manager to optimize the flow and delivery of parts through their lifecycle.
  • Work closely with Datacenter Operations Technicians to fulfill parts and equipment deliveries quickly and accurately.
  • Communicate regularly with vendors to resolve issues and help them understand our business requirements.
  • Support an environment that operates 24/7.
  • Receive parts, maintain inventory, and check-out parts as needed to Data Center Technicians and Engineers.
  • Handle sensitive/classified client materials.
  • Work with and/or around moving mechanical parts.
  • Occasionally work in an office environment.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • 18 years or older.
  • Experienced with computers and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Work authorization in Malaysia.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Familiarity with computer hardware components and operating systems.
  • Has taken STEM or vocational course curriculum.
