Title of Position: Lineworker Reports To: Supervisor – Transmission Lines Positions Supervised: Apprentices & Trades Assistants Primary Objectives: • Installs or upgrades transmission and/or distribution lines. Key Responsibilities: • Operations o Responsible for work as directed o Complete Risk Assessments o Complete timesheets o Maintain a work in progress plan o Transmission line steel erection & rigging o Installing conductors, aerial equipment and underground cables and equipment o Installing and maintaining poles and associated hardware o Fitting pole hardware and crossarms o Using heavy plant equipment such as elevated work platforms and portable equipment such as hydraulic drills o Undertake substation steel erection works • Quality o Ensure poles, towers and conductors are constructed to network operator and Safe Work Method Statement Standard Efficiently o WHS Ensure correct PPE is worn when appropriate o Always ensure personal safety and that of co-workers O Ensure all construction works are constructed to approved Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS)• Environment o Ensure all environmental protection procedures are followed as set out in the SWMS and any other instructions issued on site • Qualifications/Certificates Required o Dogging o Basic Rigging o White Card o Tower Rescue o Working at heights o First Aid and CPR, resuscitation & rescue o Australian Driving License within 3 months upon arrival in Australia
