- The role of the Firefighter is to report to the Captain and respond to fires and non-fire emergencies where there are risks to life and property.
- Report to the Captain and assist as required in operational and administrative efficiency of the fire and rescue service on station.
- Preventing, combating, and extinguishing fires with the goal of protecting lives, the environment and property.
- Operating tools and equipment used for firefighting safely and effectively.
- Providing appropriate medical care within their scope of knowledge in emergency situations.
- Analyzing hazardous situations and thinking of quick solutions and actions.
- Teaching and participating in training classes and drills.
- Maintaining a clean environment in the department facilities.
- Keep inventory of tools, and equipment on appliances.
- Report mechanical failures or difficulties and missing or damaged equipment.
- Responsibility for updating and maintaining all records pertaining to their duties.
- Attend training courses when required.
- Responsibility for the implementation of RSFRS and RSG policy and procedures.
- Be flexible regarding working in varied locations as directed by RSFRS management.
- Carrying out such other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
- Follow all relevant functional policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions to ensure that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
- Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely functional MIS statements and reports to meet corporate and functional requirements, policies, and standards.
- Apply safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls to ensure employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.
- Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of department's systems, processes and practices considering international best practice, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.
- Minimum of 3 years experience (some of which should be in a municipal setting) as a Firefighter (Saudi Nationals).
- Minimum of 5 years experience (some of which should be in a municipal setting) as a Firefighter (ex-pats).
- NFPA or RSFRS Approved Equivalent.
- Firefighter 1 and 2 NFPA 1001
- Hazmat Awareness / Operational NFPA 1072
- First Aid
- Vehicle Rescue NFPA 1006
- ARFF apparatus NFPA 1900
- Time management
- Team player
- Problem Solving
- Initiative
- Proficient in English (written and verbal)
- Physically fit (NFPA Requirements) to carry out training tasks
