This is a summer internship starting in May 2025 which will last approximately 4 months (May to August 2025). Students must currently be in the process of completing either their 1st or 2nd year of Power Engineering school. Reports to the Operations Supervisors, this position is located in Carseland, Alberta, Canada, and is not available for remote work. Carseland Nitrogen Operations is about 30 minutes SE of Calgary and is not accessible by transit. What you will do:
- Provide support for the safe and efficient operation of the production units.
- Monitor and operate equipment and associated systems within standard operating conditions and limits.
- Obtain Steam time working with the Shift Engineer or Shift Supervisor.
- Safely perform duties with a consistent awareness for the well-being of all employees.
- Be motivated and able to work in a team environment, exhibit exceptional decision-making and problem-solving skills, and have sound written and verbal communication skills.
- Work a rotating shift schedule (days and nights) of 12 hours per shift.
- Successful completion of 1st year of a Power Engineering Technology Diploma Program.
- ABSA fourth class steam ticket.
- Previous related work experience in an industrial/mechanical setting is preferred.
