Our esteemed client, an established company, is searching for a Waste Operation Chemist (Chemical Engineering) : Job Responsibilities: Supervise and support incoming waste segregation, including bulk and loose waste handling, as well as weighbridge operations. Monitor and improve department performance through periodic workflow reviews, recommending and implementing improvement plans. Oversee and ensure the effective unloading, segregation, and distribution of waste. Conduct daily inspections of plant processes, ensuring compliance with 5S and TPM practices, workplace safety, and machinery/equipment maintenance. Verify incoming waste streams for appropriate treatment processes and ensure safe handling procedures are in place for operational staff. Act as the core coordinator to lead and monitor communication between internal departments regarding waste discrepancies and update related SOPs accordingly. Evaluate and develop new treatment methods and handling procedures for unknown or new waste streams while optimizing operational costs. Implement and enforce Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) practices within the department. Collaborate with resale teams to arrange the removal of recovered products and minimize storage. Prepare and analyze daily and monthly operational records/reports, such as cost, productivity, quality, and non-conformance issues. Ensure necessary corrective actions are taken and monitor implementation. Conduct regular briefings and training sessions for staff on safe handling of high-flammable solvents, MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets), PPE requirements, and risk assessments. Job Requirements: Degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry. At least 3 months to 2 years relevant working experience is preferred. Training will be provided.
