Job Description: An International School in Kuwait is looking for Social Studies Teachers to develop lesson plans and themes in line with curriculum objectives specific for teaching these subjects to Middle-Secondary School grade levels . Responsibilities include:

1. Instruct through lectures, discussions, and demonstrations.
2. Be a leader for the teachers in this department.
3. Use computers, audiovisual aids, and other equipment and materials to supplement presentations.
4. Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet the varying needs and interests of students.
5. Facilitate learning by establishing a relationship with students and organizing learning resources and the classroom environment.
6. Meet with parents or guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators to resolve any possible behavioral or academic problems.
7. Attend professional development workshops and educational conferences to maintain and improve professional competence.
8. Establish and enforce rules for class management and student behavior.
9. Prepare, administer, and grade tests and assignments to evaluate student progress.

Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor Degree in Humanities or Social Studies from an accredited University in the UK, US, CA, AU, NZ (Due to Visa Restrictions).
2. TEACHING LICENSE-CERTIFICATION for Social Studies or Humanities from an accredited university as above.
3. Must have excellent English speaking and writing skills.
4. Must have excellent classroom management skills and be able to deal effectively with student behavior issues.

Required Experience:

1. Minimum 3 years teaching experience in Social Studies at Middle-Secondary School grade levels.
2. Culturally sensitive, dependable, flexible, and able to work in a continuously changing environment.

Monthly Salary Range: Competitive TAX FREE monthly salary range from KWD 900 - 1175 depending on qualifications and years of experience. Housing: FREE furnished accommodation according to marital status & number of dependents relocating. Health Insurance Coverage: Provided for employee only. Annual Air Fare: Annual return air fare for employee only. Relocation air ticket also provided at beginning and end of contract for employee only. Annual Leave: In addition to official holidays, paid leave is allocated as per academic calendar and as per the country Labour law. Minimum 30 work days per year. Dependent School Fees: 50% discount on tuition for 1 dependent attending the same school as employee. Visa and Medical Check Fees: VISA fees and medical check done in the country for Residency Visa are paid for by the school for employee only. End of Service Benefit: Receive 21 days basic salary for each full year of service according to Labour Law of the country. Contract Period: 1-2 year contract – renewable.
