Job Description: An International School in Kuwait is looking for Social Studies Teachers to develop lesson plans and themes in line with curriculum objectives specific for teaching these subjects to Middle-Secondary School grade levels . Responsibilities include:
- Instruct through lectures, discussions, and demonstrations.
- Be a leader for the teachers in this department.
- Use computers, audiovisual aids, and other equipment and materials to supplement presentations.
- Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet the varying needs and interests of students.
- Facilitate learning by establishing a relationship with students and organizing learning resources and the classroom environment.
- Meet with parents or guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators to resolve any possible behavioral or academic problems.
- Attend professional development workshops and educational conferences to maintain and improve professional competence.
- Establish and enforce rules for class management and student behavior.
- Prepare, administer, and grade tests and assignments to evaluate student progress.
- Bachelor Degree in Humanities or Social Studies from an accredited University in the UK, US, CA, AU, NZ (Due to Visa Restrictions).
- TEACHING LICENSE-CERTIFICATION for Social Studies or Humanities from an accredited university as above.
- Must have excellent English speaking and writing skills.
- Must have excellent classroom management skills and be able to deal effectively with student behavior issues.
- Minimum 3 years teaching experience in Social Studies at Middle-Secondary School grade levels.
- Culturally sensitive, dependable, flexible, and able to work in a continuously changing environment.
