Job details

General Description of Role and Responsibilities:

  1. Providing strategic low-energy design advice.
  2. Liaising with key client stakeholders to develop their sustainability strategies.
  3. Identifying sustainability risks and appropriate mitigation measures and highlighting any opportunities to increase the organization's sustainability credentials.
  4. Conducting Pre-Assessment and providing design advice.
  5. Creating models to illustrate your plans, processes, and designs.
  6. Undertaking a gap analysis report should the desired rating not be achievable.
  7. Monitoring the design process to ensure that the scheme design objectives are being followed and the design meets the client's requirements.
  8. Preparing low and zero-carbon technology feasibility studies and energy statements for local authority approval as part of planning applications.
  9. A range of additional ad hoc duties to support the wider team.
  10. Identifying feasible sustainable design concepts on behalf of the client.
  11. Managing client projects and keeping them up-to-date on progress.
  12. Keeping up-to-date with the latest client building assessments.
  13. Using CAD tools to create models.
  14. Using mapping technology such as GIS to assist with the creation of models.
  15. Collecting and collating qualitative and quantitative data to help communicate and support your sustainable engineering designs.
  16. Building portfolios for the client.
  17. Writing bids and proposals on behalf of the client.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
  1. Required to have at least a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant Engineering or Sustainability subject. A Master's Degree qualification is preferred.
  2. LEED AP Certification along with MOSTADAM / ASHREA BEAP.
  3. Circa 8 - 10 years postgraduate work experience in the sustainability field required.
  4. Strong technical engineering knowledge.
  5. Good understanding of low-carbon building solutions.
  6. Design skills and product assessment skills.
  7. Good report writing skills.
