Location: Dubai, UAE Closing Date: 2nd February 2025 The Issam Abdallah Visual Journalist Fellowship: A Year of Immersive Storytelling Issam Abdallah, a courageous Reuters visual journalist, was killed on October 13, 2023, while covering cross-border shelling on the Israeli-Lebanon border. Issam dedicated his life to capturing the human impact of conflict, injustice, and hope through powerful visual storytelling. He believed in the transformative power of images to connect us, foster empathy, and inspire change. Honor Issam's Legacy. Become a Reuters Visual Journalist. Reuters is launching the Issam Abdallah Visual Journalist Fellowship to honor his memory and empower the next generation of visual storytellers. This year-long, paid fellowship, based in our Dubai bureau, offers a unique opportunity for a talented visual journalist (with up to five years of experience) to immerse themselves in impactful news reporting across the region. The start date for the fellowship will be Monday 5th May 2025.
