Job Description

• Carries out a range of diagnostic imaging examinations according to the Department's duty list.
• Produces good quality diagnostic radiographs with maximum radiation safety measures.
• Protects patients, patient relatives, and staff from unnecessary radiation.
• Undertakes training in procedures as required and pursues ongoing continuing education.
• Entirely responsible for correct identification of patients before proceeding with examination.
• Inspects all equipment under her/his control on a regular daily basis ensuring that they are used according to the manufacturers' instructions and kept clean at all times.
• Must be aware of all aspects of using CR & PACS.
• Assists the Radiologist in special procedures.
• Respects and maintains the confidentiality of patients' records, releasing information only to the referring physician.
• If assigned to USS Section:
• Performs the obstetric ultrasound as per the protocol agreed upon and ensures that the Doctor sees all abnormal scans.
• Keeps the ultrasound equipment clean and uses it according to manufacturers' specifications.
• Observes all health and safety policies and procedures pertaining to the department.
• Performs other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
