ISMS is a friendly and dynamic Preschool and Primary School with students at the heart of everything we do. Our staff create nurturing classrooms where each child develops a healthy self-concept, positive values, strong skills and habits, a deep academic understanding and a curiosity and appreciation of nature and the world around them. Recognised as one of Australia’s leading Montessori schools, our child-focused Preschool and Primary School enrols students from 26 months to 12 years of age. Additionally, our Infant Community also welcomes families from pregnancy to three years, to Parent & Child Programs each term. ISMS is also in the initial stages of developing a Montessori High School. About You The successful candidate will be a passionate educator, with an open-minded approach to child-focused, kinesthetic and project-based learning. Your experience within leadership will have provided you with a thorough understanding of the strategic and operational management of schools and governance. Selection Criteria You will demonstrate : Relevant teaching qualification and NSW accreditation (or be able to attain NSW accreditation); An enthusiasm to develop an understanding of Montessori education and willingness to embrace the Montessori philosophy, if you don’t have prior Montessori experience or training; Strong emotional intelligence with the ability to inspire, challenge and develop others as you support the Principal to lead the school; The ability to promote a positive and supportive ethos for pupils and staff where all are valued, encouraged and challenged to achieve the best they can; A strong appreciation of collaboration with the ability to communicate and manage relationships effectively with children, staff, families, School Council and other stakeholders.
