Executive Director (2024200/001) Brisbane, Australia Salary: AUD241582 - AUD261057 per annum Reporting to the Director-General of the Department of Primary Industries (DPI), this position offers a unique opportunity for a senior executive leader passionate about making an impact. As the Executive Director, Office of the Director-General, your main duties involve: Provide strategic advice and options to the Director-General, Minister, DPI Leadership Board, and DPI senior executives about issues of strategic importance, with particular emphasis on whole of government, cross agency, strategic policy issues, or matters related to government service delivery. Be a critical point of interface between the department and the Minister's Office - ensuring the department is best placed to deliver on the priorities of the Minister and Government, and provides high quality, timely and impartial advice. Provide direction and strategic leadership to the Office of the Director-General to ensure priorities and projects are delivered on time. Provide and/or facilitate the provision of high-quality support to the Director-General, including on cabinet and parliamentary matters, departmental liaison, executive correspondence, and other ministerial requirements. Build strong relationships and networks with key stakeholders, including senior officers in DPI and other government departments across the sector, to influence outcomes and boost the department's reputation. Establish and maintain a strategic partnership with the Minister's office to ensure effective and efficient operations for the department. Lead the proactive collaboration with the DPI Leadership Board and the Director-General to deliver a coordinated approach to policy and legislation development and implementation. Analyse data and make informed recommendations on portfolio-wide priorities and strategic direction to the Director-General and DPI Leadership Board. Represent the department at cross-jurisdictional and whole of government forums and meetings. Demonstrate excellent consultation, engagement, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills. Lead a culture of continuous improvement to deliver efficiencies, enhance professional growth, and display ethical behaviour across the Office of the Director-General. Lead, manage and develop forward budget strategies and maximise the use of resources for the department.
