Our iconic brands in New Zealand, including Tip Top Bread, Ploughmans, Bürgen, Golden, Big Ben, and Dad's Pies, are staples in households and commercial food service channels across the country. We are looking for a motivated, proactive, and collaborative Quality Business Partner to join our team in Christchurch. In this role, you will work with the Quality leader, site leadership, and front-line operators to drive Quality and Food Safety initiatives. The key purpose of this role is to ensure food safety and quality standards are maintained and continuously improved, while fostering a positive culture through hands-on support, coaching, and engagement. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Compliance Management: Ensure the site complies with food safety programs and standards (GWF, BRCGS, Woolworths). This includes internal audits, product and environmental testing, HACCP reviews, and documentation management.
  • Complaint Handling: Investigate and resolve customer and consumer complaints promptly. Implement corrective and preventative actions and identify trends.
  • Training: Develop and deliver training programs for Food Safety, GMP, and Quality to site staff. Support product trace and mock recall activities.
  • Audits: Conduct audits of Tip Top Depots and third-party suppliers/service providers. Track performance, raise non-conformances, and ensure issues are resolved.
  • Food Safety and Quality Culture: Lead and support activities to ensure products are safe and meet quality standards. Assist in building Food Safety and Quality Business Plans, share learnings and successes, and create visual standards.
  • New Product Development (NPD): Participate in NPD meetings, support trials, and help integrate new products.
To be successful in this role you will have:
  • 2-5 years food industry experience – preferably in FMCG / Food Manufacturing
  • Passionate about Quality and Food Safety
  • Strong interpersonal skills and confidence in forming effective relationships across all levels of an organisation
  • Self-motivated and a great team player
  • Collaborative approach with great communication skills
  • Ability to problem solve and identify a way forward when faced with issues
  • Bachelor of Food Technology/Science or similar science-based qualification
  • Prior experience in BRCGS and Woolworths standards is preferred
