Location/Office Policy: AIB, Central Park, Leopardstown, Dublin 18 What is the role: The Technology Architecture team is responsible for developing and governing our technology strategy, domain architecture, and roadmaps in line with our business goals. The Cloud Architect is a key role on that team, accountable for defining target cloud architecture, roadmaps, and principles to support our hybrid cloud future. Key accountabilities:
- Take overall accountability for the development of a cloud domain architecture and technology roadmap for cloud. Ensure these are used as reference for solution architectures and designs in that domain. These architectures must reflect a roadmap for migration and continuing optimisation of the platform to reduce complexity and lifetime cost.
- Problem solve - takes large complex problem domains and requirements and decomposes them into segments. Draws on subject matter experts to translate the complex into the simple to define a holistic architecture and roadmap.
- Collaborate - establishes connections with team and wider Technology, Architecture, Business, and Vendor community. Works with them to ensure that the appropriate technology direction is set and adopted to meet business requirements.
- Influence - engages with the team and applies expertise to contribute to team outcomes and requirements to influence senior Business and Technology stakeholders. Manage complex stakeholder engagements.
- Cloud architecture experience (6+ years) with a range of technologies, providers, deployment (private, hybrid, public), and service models (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS). Architecture, design, and implementation of scalable cloud-based solutions.
- Experience with the AWS or Azure Well-Architected Frameworks.
- In-depth hands-on work experience with large-scale implementations of Azure and extensive architecture experience (enterprise, full-life cycle) with other platforms such as AWS or GCP would be a plus.
- Project experience migrating and deploying cloud-based solutions (GCP, Azure, or AWS) with an understanding of Agile, SCRUM, and Continuous Delivery.
- Experience in architecting, implementing, and supporting Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services infrastructure and topologies.
- Knowledge of .NET, and cloud technologies development languages and tools. Understanding of Infrastructure as a Service, Infrastructure as Code, and related concepts on public cloud.
- Certification in Azure Architecture; additional certifications in AWS and GCP would be a plus.
- Experience with distributed computing, cloud security, IaaS & PaaS architectures, knowledge of big data/analytics, CI/CD, DevOps, SRE, and networking concepts.
- Container experience with Docker and Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms.
- Understanding of Identity and Access Management, user and system authentication methods, and certificates, tokens, and certificate management.
- Knowledge of the architecture practice, principles of business analysis, requirements definition, SLAs, and cost evaluation. Professional certification advantageous (TOGAF, CITA/IASA).
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a technology discipline advantageous.
