As a Stormwater Engineer in our Water Resources team you will provide technical and specialist analysis and design support in the area of stormwater drainage hydrology and flood management for a wide range of infrastructure projects including road rail and urban development in Africa and around the world. The successful applicant will be required to undertake: Hydrological analysis of storm rainfall Hydrological and hydraulic analysis of catchment runoff and watercourses Hydraulic modelling and design of stormwater reticulation systems culverts scour protection and other flood control structures Sustainable urban drainage system design Preparation of project specifications bill of quantities and tender documentation Stormwater master planning and flood risk assessments Minimum requirements Four to seven years experience in a similar role essential Experience in hydrological studies hydraulic analysis and design of stormwater drainage infrastructure such as culverts and bridges advantageous Experience in the design of stormwater reticulation systems culverts scour protection flood control structures and runoff treatment and management devices advantageous Knowledge of detailed road drainage design and multidisciplinary interfaces advantageous; Experience in the use of drainage analysis and associated design software technology applications (e.g. HECHMS HECRAS TUFLOW PCSWMM Autocad Civil 3D GIS etc.) highly advantageous Strong communication skills both verbal and written. Qualifications : Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering Environmental Engineering or a closely related field
- Minimum of four years experience in stormwater engineering or related water resources field
- Proficiency in hydrological and hydraulic modelling software (e.g. HECHMS HECRAS TUFLOW PCSWMM)
- Strong knowledge of stormwater management principles and sustainable urban drainage systems
- Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written
