Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi is inviting applications from Intensive Care Nurses, specialized in any of the below three areas. Relocation required to Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) JOB SUMMARY This position is responsible for providing general and specialized direct and indirect patient care through the application of evidence-based nursing procedures and practices to patients of all ages on assigned nursing unit. This position is also responsible for demonstrating competency in the behavioral, growth, development, and psychosocial needs of patients being treated. POSITION DIMENSIONS Reports directly to: Nurse Manager ROLE INTERACTS DIRECTLY WITH: Various patient care areas as needed KEY DECISIONS THE ROLE MAKES AND THE EXTENT OF THE IMPACT OF THE DECISION Develop and implement plan of care, supervise Practical Nurses, and collaborate with other health care professionals. PRIMARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES PATIENT CARE
  1. Performs accurate and complete admission assessments
  2. Monitors and documents the patient’s condition and the effectiveness of care and/or interventions
  3. Establishes and implements a care plan based on sound nursing theory, scientific principles, professional judgment, and individual patient needs
  4. Evaluates and updates the patient’s plan of care to facilitate the achievement of planned and expected outcomes
  5. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing protocol
  6. Assesses for and plans the educational needs of the patient
  7. Provides teaching and educational material to patients and/or families, which may include diagnosis, tests and procedures, safe and proper use of equipment, use of medications, injury prevention, and nutritional needs
  8. Monitors and resolves customer service issues and provides feedback regarding satisfaction results to Nursing Leadership
  9. Maintains confidentiality regarding patients and families
  10. Interacts with patients, families, and other visitors in a courteous, helpful manner
  11. Facilitates the incorporation of patient safety and Magnet principles into clinical nursing care
  12. Participates in clinical nursing research and supports CCAD research initiatives
  13. Keeps abreast of best practice information for the nursing profession
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS ESSENTIAL
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or equivalent qualification is required
  2. Minimum three (3) year curriculum in Nursing from an accredited program is required
  3. Minimum of two (2) years post-graduate experience in an acute care setting is required
  4. Valid and current national license is required
  5. BLS is required from AHA or an equivalent organization, or must be obtained within 3 months of employment
  6. ACLS, PALS relevant to area of specialty is required, from AHA or an equivalent organization; or must obtain within 6 months of employment
  7. Strong oral and written communication skills
  8. Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  9. Ability to effectively manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
  10. Fluency in written and spoken English
