  1. Streamline the Shipping and Customs activities within the supply chain process, coordinating with Procurement, Expediting & Inspection, Asset, and Operational Logistics to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  2. Define the best transportation and customs scheme, related feasibility, and costs according to actual Project requirements.
  3. Supervise/manage and ensure that Shipping and Customs activities are carried out efficiently and safely, within allocated budget and in compliance with Project plans.
  4. Guarantee an overview of available resources in terms of competence and ability, assuring optimal use.
TASKS:
  1. Supervise/manage transport and customs formalities of Saipem purchased materials and subcontractors' equipment from the delivery point to the required destination.
  2. Support the Tendering department and any other function involved in the supply chain process to define the best transportation scheme, assess feasibility, and provide related budget.
  3. Define proper overall Project Customs scheme according to Project fiscal organization, vendor location, and materials country of origin.
  4. Support the Procurement function in defining the best contractual delivery terms and prepare shipping instructions to manage the actual goods supply.
  5. Liaise with the Expediting and Inspection department to arrange timely shipment to destination.
  6. Define Project Shipping instructions in coordination with the Logistics function and ensure distribution through the Shipping and Customs Network.
  7. Support the Insurance department by notifying when the value of a shipment exceeds Corporate Insurance deductibles or when damage occurs during transportation.
  8. Review and approve Scope of works, Purchase Requisitions, and Technical Bid Evaluations relevant to Transport Frame Agreements.
  9. Manage Transport Agreements and monitor their utilization, approving related AfS/WO within power of attorney limit.
  10. Ensure the retrievable archive of documents relevant to shipping and customs activities.
  11. Manage transport contracts during execution up to completion and ensure required information flows for liquidated damages and price revisions.
  12. Assign Shipping & Customs Coordinators to Projects and ensure adequate support from Shipping and Customs officers.
  13. Participate in the vendor qualification process.
  14. Provide feedback and reporting on freight forwarders and customs brokers performances.
