About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and visionary Director of UX/UI and Documentation to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal leadership position, you will be responsible for shaping the user experience and interface design of Serrala's product portfolio while overseeing the creation and maintenance of comprehensive product documentation. You will lead a talented team of UX/UI designers and technical writers, driving initiatives that ensure our products are not only powerful but also intuitive and user-friendly. Key Responsibilities: 1. Leadership and Strategy:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a diverse team of UX/UI designers and technical writers.
- Develop and execute a strategic vision for UX/UI design and documentation across all Serrala products.
- Ensure alignment of design and documentation strategies with the company’s overarching goals and product roadmap.
- Oversee the development of user-centered designs that deliver an intuitive and cohesive experience across the entire Serrala product suite.
- Collaborate closely with Product Management, Engineering, and other stakeholders to integrate user feedback, business requirements, and technological constraints into the design process.
- Drive the evolution of the design system, ensuring consistency, accessibility, and scalability in UI components and patterns.
- Ensure all designs comply with industry standards and best practices, particularly regarding accessibility (WCAG) and usability.
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of high-quality, user-friendly documentation, including user guides, release notes, API documentation, and online help systems.
- Establish standards and processes for documentation that ensure accuracy, clarity, and ease of use.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure documentation reflects the latest product features and updates.
- Foster strong collaboration with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of UX/UI and documentation into the product development lifecycle.
- Advocate for the importance of UX/UI and documentation in delivering exceptional user experiences and achieving business objectives.
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in UX/UI design and technical documentation.
- Continuously seek opportunities to enhance user experience and improve the effectiveness of product documentation.
- Lead initiatives to explore new tools, methodologies, and technologies that can enhance team productivity and the quality of outputs.
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Technical Communication, or a related field.
- Experience: 10+ years of experience in UX/UI design, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of designing and delivering successful user experiences for complex software products, preferably in the B2B or enterprise software domain.
- Strong experience in managing technical documentation teams and processes.
- Experience within the SAP ecosystem or with financial automation products is highly desirable.
- Expert knowledge of UX/UI design principles, user research methods, and usability testing.
- Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and advocate for user needs effectively.
- Strong leadership abilities, with a passion for mentoring and developing talent.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment.
- Familiarity with documentation tools and platforms such as Confluence, MadCap Flare, or similar.
