The Role
PKW is seeking an experienced and talented Farm Manager - Calf Rearing Unit to successfully manage PKW’s Calf Rearing Unit in South Taranaki. Reporting to the Drystock Farm Supervisor, the Farm Manager is responsible for the annual rearing of approximately 1,200+ Beef Cattle as well as some dairy replacements. The overriding objective of the Farm Manager on this 20-hectare property is to produce quality stock that feeds into subsequent parts of PKW’s farming operations. The farm is well-established and equipped with automatic and traditional calf-rearing equipment. The position of Farm Manager – Calf Rearing Unit encompasses the following Key Accountabilities:- Oversee all aspects of the Calf Rearing Unit.
- Feed Management - Feed allocation and management.
- Stock Management - Ensuring calf health and wellbeing is maintained to a high degree at all times.
- Farm/Asset Maintenance - Maintenance of the farm and supporting infrastructure including buildings, equipment, machinery, fences, and races as required.
