Pepper ( is building India’s largest content marketplace that brings companies and content creators together to scale up content creation processes across 10 content verticals and 150+ content categories, 40+ content verticals, and 40+ global languages. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Group Head - SEO to lead our SEARCH team and drive our search engine optimization efforts to new heights. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing and implementing successful SEO strategies, managing a team of SEO professionals, and delivering measurable results for clients across various industries. Key Responsibilities:
- Strategy Development: Develop and execute comprehensive SEO strategies to increase organic search visibility, improve website rankings, and drive qualified traffic and leads for clients.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of SEO specialists, providing guidance, support, and training to ensure the team achieves individual and collective goals.
- Client Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for SEO clients, build strong relationships, and effectively communicate SEO strategies, performance metrics, and recommendations to drive client satisfaction and retention.
- Technical SEO: Oversee technical SEO audits, website optimizations, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal website performance, crawlability, and indexability.
- Content Strategy: Collaborate with content teams to develop and execute content strategies aligned with SEO goals, including keyword research, content optimization, and link building initiatives.
- Analytics and Reporting: Utilize data-driven insights to monitor SEO performance, track key metrics, and provide regular performance reports and actionable recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Stay Updated: Stay abreast of industry trends, algorithm updates, and best practices in SEO and digital marketing to continuously innovate and enhance our SEO offerings.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in SEO, with a proven track record of driving organic search growth and delivering results for clients.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience leading and developing high-performing SEO teams.
- Deep understanding of search engine algorithms, ranking factors, and technical SEO best practices.
- Proficiency in SEO tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Moz, Ahrefs, etc.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to drive actionable insights and recommendations.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex SEO concepts to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Certifications such as Google Analytics, Google Ads, or SEO-specific certifications are a plus.
