Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in accessibility, inclusive design, or UX/UI development with a focus on accessibility.
- Familiarity with web technologies such as HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications).
- Experience with accessibility testing tools (e.g. NVDA, Axe, WAVE, JAWS, VoiceOver)
- In-depth understanding of WCAG 2.1, Section 508, ADA, and other relevant accessibility standards .
- Knowledge of assistive technologies used by people with disabilities .
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
- Previous experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
- Experience developing accessible mobile applications.
- Proficiency with accessibility management platforms.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Work closely with the IT and UX/UI teams to ensure accessibility is incorporated into the development lifecycle from concept through release.
- Utilize accessibility testing tools and assistive technologies to evaluate digital products.
- Provide accessibility training and workshops for internal teams to build awareness and integrate best practices into daily workflows.
- Provide recommendations and technical solutions to remediate accessibility issues found during audits and testing.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation of accessibility findings, including user feedback and compliance reports.
- Stay updated with the latest accessibility laws, regulations, and standards to ensure all digital content meets legal requirements.
- Conduct audits of websites, software, and digital platforms to assess compliance with accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1, Section 508, ADA) as required.
