We're looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to join our Technical Services & Design Unit in the Water and Waste team. We are an in-house shared service comprised of technical and design professionals responsible for providing specialist advice, designs, reviews and services across the Council. You'll be valued here as you bring your extensive experience geared towards civil and environmental design and construction. About the role | Ko te mahi nei This is a varied and important role where you will:
- Provide civil engineering design services for Three Waters (water supply, potable wells, storm water, land drainage and wastewater) utilities and infrastructure.
- Provide design expertise, mentoring, design inputs, and critically analyse/review designs including constructability checks and documentation from internal teams and external consultants.
- Provide expert advice on complex water supply, wastewater and storm water engineering projects on an area wide basis, including land drainage flood mitigation projects, pump stations and stop banks.
- A four year University Bachelor of Engineering (Civil)
- Chartered Professional Engineering status and professional membership of Engineering New Zealand
- Extensive (12 years+) relevant Three Waters experience
- Proven and strong design and technical review skills
- Extensive construction and detailed design experience in water supply, wastewater, stormwater and land drainage infrastructure projects
