About the job Intermediate Database Administrator
- Matric
- MCSE in SQL 2016 advantageous
- Minimum 4 year's experience in data warehouse management
- Collect business requirements using a variety of methods such as interviews, document analysis, workshops, and workflow analysis to express the requirements in terms of target user roles and goals
- Database Specifications
- Contribute to the approval process for database specifications to ensure all agreed standards and protocols are followed and data integrity is preserved
- Install and test complex databases and associated products to ensure they are suitable for use and meet customer requirements
- Information Security
- Implement and provide input on the design of required security measures such as firewalls or message encryption, monitoring performance to notify security experts of any problems
- Documentation and Back up
- Create and maintain technical and/or user documentation to a high standard and back up files to ensure instant recovery if problems occur
- Data Management
- Manage basic aspects of the data management system with guidance from senior colleagues
- This includes being responsible for developing or operating basic elements of the data management systems to deliver prescribed outcomes
- Technical Database Support
- Design distribution of database resources and provide physical modeling and design services to tune database applications for optimum performance
- Self-Management
- Set an example through personal quality and productivity standards and ways of working with others
- Demonstrate consistent application of internal procedures
- Plan and prioritise, demonstrating abilities to manage competing demands
- Demonstrate abilities to anticipate and manage change
- Demonstrate flexibility in balancing achievement of own objectives with abilities to understand and respond to organisational and team needs
