Position: Technical Support Chemist (Segregation) Salary: S$3,200 – S$3,600 Working Hours: 5 Days Monday to Friday: 8am to 5pm Location: Tuas, West Singapore (Company Transport / Transport Allowance $120 if candidate possesses own transport) Requirements Degree in Engineering or Chemistry At least 2 years relevant experience Job Scope Supervise and support the functions of incoming waste segregation including bulk waste and loose waste as well as weighbridge. Constantly monitor and improve department performance. Conduct periodic reviews of existing workflows and procedures, making recommendations for improvements and executing the improvement plans. Supervise and ensure the effectiveness and smoothness of waste unloading, segregation, and distribution. Conduct daily and regular inspections of plant processes, monitoring the working area 5S and TPM activities, safety, discipline at work, and machinery and equipment conditions. Ensure incoming waste streams are checked properly for suitable treatment processes and that current safe work procedures are appropriate for handling by operation staff. Act as the core coordinator, leading and monitoring communication flow among internal departments on incoming waste discrepancies and revising related SOPs accordingly. Evaluate and develop new treatment methods and handling procedures for new and unknown wastes, reviewing operation costs and providing regular updates to management. Implement and supervise correct EHS practices within the department. Work with resale for the arrangement of recovered products to minimize storage. Prepare and analyze daily and monthly operation records/reports (e.g., cost, productivity, quality, nonconformance, etc.) on plant processing and maintenance. Follow up on necessary corrective actions and monitor relevant department staff to ensure compliance. Conduct regular briefings/training for department staff on safety handling of highly flammable solvents, MSDS, PPE requirements, and risk assessment before operations. Activate the emergency response team of operation and maintenance staff and respond to any in-house spill and fire incidents in case of emergencies. Liaise with the EHS department to ensure staff are up-to-date with handling methods and emergency equipment usage in terms of spills and fire incidents, conducting regular practice and drill exercises with different scenarios to ensure preparedness. Ensure all staff are well trained according to the OJT program and can follow SOPs and work safely. Secondary Responsibilities Undertake any other tasks assigned by Management from time to time. As an ISO committee member, develop and implement documents for operation procedures, such as SOP, RA, MOC, SWP, and participate in auditing various departments as an Internal Auditor. #J-18808-Ljbffr
