Senior Video Content Producer
Job details
Superside is on the hunt for a versatile and skilled Senior Video Content Producer to join our growing Marketing Creative team. Reporting to the Associate Creative Director, you’ll play a pivotal role in elevating Superside’s video content across digital platforms. Acting as a one-person crew when necessary, you'll be responsible for everything from conceptualizing and filming videos to editing and appearing on-camera as part of our new Cape Town-based studio team. You’ll also coordinate larger-scale productions involving external talent, locations, and specialized crews, all while contributing to our ongoing advertising campaigns and creative initiatives. This role is deeply focused on direct response advertising, crafting video content designed to drive measurable results and ROI. If you’re looking to produce high-impact ads like this example and help us scale to new heights, this is your opportunity. Our Biggest Challenge Right Now As Superside grows, so does the need for compelling, high-quality video content to fuel our marketing efforts, build our brand, and meet ambitious advertising goals. To meet this demand, we’re setting up a brand-new studio in Cape Town, and you’ll play a pivotal role in bringing it to life—shaping its operations and defining what great video production looks like at Superside. From quick-turn digital ads to full-scale productions, every video we create needs to engage, convert, and amplify our message. We’re looking for a video producer who can do it all—plan, shoot, edit, and even step in front of the camera—while also leading larger productions involving external talent and locations. This role is about producing impactful content that delivers results and helps drive Superside’s growth.
What You'll Do
- Act as a one-person crew: Film and produce high-quality videos independently, setting up lights, audio, and cameras, and ensuring all technical aspects are handled with precision.
- On-camera talent: Appear in videos as needed for ads, explainer videos, or branded content, working alongside our in-house team, with the ability to speak in a convincing American accent.
- Coordinate small & big productions: Whether flying solo to handle a shoot independently or working with external actors, locations, and specialized crews, you'll take the lead on sourcing talent and managing logistics as needed.
- Conceptualize and storyboard: Develop engaging video concepts, direct response ads, and branded content that resonate with our audience.
- Edit videos: Handle post-production tasks during downtime between shoots, ensuring consistent delivery of polished, professional content.
- Collaborate: Work closely with motion designers, editors, and the marketing team to align video output with broader advertising and branding strategies.
- Innovate and test: Experiment with new formats, styles, and approaches to maximize the performance of paid advertising campaigns.
- Travel as needed: Attend industry events or on-location shoots to capture dynamic, real-world footage for campaigns.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Must be located in Cape Town, South Africa, for access to our studio.
- 4+ years of experience in video production, with a proven track record of working both as an independent filmmaker and producer—specializing in small, solo-run projects as well as larger-scale productions involving external talent and locations.
- Strong technical expertise, with the ability to independently handle lighting, audio, and camera setups.
- Comfortable and charismatic on camera, with experience presenting or acting in video content.
- Deep industry knowledge, especially in crafting video content for marketing and advertising campaigns.
- Proficiency in video editing software, particularly the Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, etc.), and the ability to deliver polished, professional edits.
- A portfolio showcasing creative storytelling, technical skills, and successful video campaigns.
- Experience in B2B or SaaS marketing is a strong plus.
- Outstanding time management and organizational skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A collaborative and proactive mindset, thriving in a fast-paced, remote work environment.
- Nice to have: Ownership of personal camera gear that you’re comfortable using for professional shoots.
- Travel-ready: Willingness to travel occasionally to capture on-location content at industry events or for specific campaigns.
