Qualification: Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or relevant qualification Experience: 6 years at least in mechanical maintenance. Responsibilities:

  1. Manage and supervise the vehicles Maintenance Team. This team shall be in charge of the maintenance of the fleet by carrying out activities such as but not limited to the following:
  • Trolley Bus Engine.
  • Trolley Bus Electrical Systems.
  • Trolley Bus Cooling System.
  • Other related O&M activities.
  • Reviews assigned work orders. Carries out functional planning and scheduling. Regularly provides updates and reports work status.
  • Perform daily maintenance activities.
  • Ensures work is completed in a satisfactory manner, in accordance with standards and codes, policies and ensure cost-effective employee performance in the work completed.
  • Organizes, improves and standardizes the quality of services and products used in the maintenance of all properties and standardizes diagnostic approaches for troubleshooting.
  • Defines and operates a comprehensive Planned Preventive Maintenance System (PPM) which will identify all PPM work that is required and ensure that the work is actually being done as described.
  • Prepare and monitor daily, weekly, monthly reports.
  • Implement an effective preventative maintenance program, completion of service requests, to ensure that equipment and facility function as planned to avoid downtime.
  • Manages supply procurement and scheduling. Coordinates ordering necessary materials and supplies to complete all tasks.
  • Keeps Trolley Bus O&M Project manager informed of work status, workload, problems, and progress as related to work assignments. Prepares plan, schedule, budget, and interim reports as required.
  • Formulates safety procedures for area of responsibility.
  • Ensures compliance with all site safety and fire procedures and administrative policies and procedures as laid down by applicable standards.
  • Coordinates and facilitates technical/safety on-the-job training needs for the personnel and ensures level of awareness needs are met. Ensure a reserve of trained staff to cater for the present and future need of the department.
  • Analyzes and evaluates installations/equipment in existing buildings/facilities to identify deficiencies and makes proposals for correction.
  • Provides technical advice in defining and evaluating requirements for future space, services and equipment. Makes recommendations for system upgrades. Ensures new equipment/system training is completed and is effective.
  • Maintains accurate documentation on all assigned responsibilities and tasks including repairs/improvements and equipment to assure proper capitalization, depreciation, and performance efficiencies.
  • Analyzes problems quickly, and develops corrective actions. Effectively deals with difficult situations affecting work and staff both internally and externally.
  • Coordinate & schedule vacations, leave permits for the Vehicles team.
  • Following up materials, spare parts and maintained equipment.
  • Arrange works independently and with the team as required.
  • Responds to MAXIMO service requests related to assigned areas.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
