About The International Programs School (IPS)

The International Programs School (IPS) in Al Khobar, established in 2000 with just 19 students, has grown significantly and now serves over 1,443 students from more than 53 different nationalities. Job Overview

The principal shall pledge her commitment to providing leadership, organizational, and management skills to successfully guide school programs that will ensure that each student achieves success. The principal must have a lifelong love of learning, manage a highly qualified faculty, motivate students, and develop a working relationship with the parents.

Duties

  1. To ensure the implementation of the School Board approved Strategic Plan, the IPS school mission, beliefs, and profile.
  2. Ensure that all teachers and support staff have a clear understanding of their performance expectations as shown in the job descriptions and faculty handbook.
  3. Mentor the faculty as well as encourage their professional growth and career advancement, such as relevant professional development.
  4. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and faculty members and involve everyone in a wide variety of school activities.
  5. Follow the school performance evaluation.
  6. Assist the Curriculum and other coordinators with program implementation.
  7. Advise the Head of School on recruitment needs and participate fully in this.
  8. Create an efficient, productive and caring culture so that all students are recognized for their best efforts.
  9. Ensure that the school resources are identified and being used to serve the students and faculty members alike to reach their full performance potential.
  10. Assume responsibility for sound financial management, manage the pressures that come from the parent-elected Board of Directors, and be involved and attend after-school activities.
  11. Take on responsibility for the mechanics of the job such as building a master class schedule, accurate record keeping, office accounting, etc.
  12. Uphold and recommend policies and procedures that affect the whole school, and establish annual work objectives in line with the school's strategic plan.
  13. Review all student admission applications in accordance with school policies.
  14. To perform other activities required for the benefit of the school and/or requested by the Head of School.

Requirements

  1. Masters degree or higher with Principal License. No online degrees accepted.
  2. Previous curriculum leadership experience with or in international schools, ideally those with an IB and US curriculum orientation. Experience with school accreditation.
  3. Direct experience with IB PYP, MYP, and DP (as appropriate) and concept-based; backward by design curriculum design and development. Full understanding of best practices in all curricular areas.
  4. Fluent in English or Arabic/English bilingual speaker.
  5. Good communication and organizational skills.
  6. Good interpersonal skills along with independent working habits.
