Job Description Job Summary The Landscape Engineer will be responsible for the supervision of Hardscape and Softscape. Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervising contractors on all aspects of Hardscape and Softscape construction.
- Hardscape, including exterior stonework (paving of roadways, pedestrian walkways and parking lots), cladding, GRC-artificial rockwork, wood decking, site furnishings (including kids play equipment, outdoor sports courts), natural rock grouping, grading works, landscape lighting, irrigation.
- Softscape, including plant material inspection (on site, at local nurseries and overseas), on-site planting and associated landscape elements [soil mixing, leveling and capillary movement (drainage)].
- Review and approval of shop drawings, materials samples, mock-ups etc. in connection with hardscape and softscape.
- Onsite design modifications and implementation of additional Clients’ requests.
- Participating in the preparation of periodical progress reports; Correspondence with Client, Project Managers and Contractors.
- Coordinating and liaising with other sections of the Municipality and Gardens Directorate (workshop, nurseries, transportation department, etc.), Contractors and other Third Parties as necessary for the progress of works.
- Work proactively to resolve any problems or site issues as they occur in connection with hardscape and softscape.
- Ensure that all resources of materials, manpower, and plant and equipment are available at all sites in a timely manner for proper progress of landscaping works.
- Ensure that work at all sites is proceeding according to program and to the required standards, in accordance with approved designs and instructions issued.
- Follow up the progress of all ongoing site work on a frequent basis to ensure timely and proper completion of site work.
- Supervise the preparation of landscaping as-built drawings.
